Sad news has flooded social media platforms alleging that an 11-year-old boy tragically ended his life to “please” his unloving mom who had been showing hostility towards him over the years.
Unconfirmed revelations claim that Alphonso Owino from Kisumu in Kenya opted to end his life as a birthday present to his mom, Grace Atenio who had never been happy with him ever since she gave birth to him, claiming that he had brought misfortunes to her.
According to the Kenya News Agency, the sub-location assistant chief responsible for the investigation dismissed the theory that has already been considered gospel truth. The theory claimed that Alphonso wrote a note before his death.
He (assistant chief Maurice Saf) however confirmed that an 11-year-old Kudho Primary School student did commit suicide.
Sources close to the bereaved family confirmed the uncovering note left out by the grade 3 primary school student narrating why he decided to end his life after his mother preferred to be accompanied to shops by one of her children and not Alphonso.
According to social media reports, the 11-year-old wrote that “on this special day I want you to be the happiest mother ever,” before he committed suicide.
He added that “every day you used to say that happiness left your life the day I was born. You told me dad also left because of me. So today, I want to change things. I want you to be very happy and live as if I never existed”.
“You told me that you would never look at me with love but I always admired you as the best mom on earth. I hope one day you will think of me. I hope in heaven you will finally hold me and kiss me. The best gift I could have given you is leaving your life as you have always told me you wished I was never born. I love you, mom. Happy birthday”, he added.
An audio clip allegedly made by the boy’s mother reveals that she had denied his son to accompany her to shops because he had not bathed. She further narrated that she was shocked to hear through a call that her son had opted to kill himself over the matter.
She, however, denied having preferences of her other children over her deceased son, Alphonso Owino.
Details of the suicide have not yet been released by the police.
