AKA And Nellie Tembe’s Dad Texts Spark Outrage As He Calls Her Dramatic
The case of the late Nellie Tembe, keeps taking some really strange twists, as more information is coming out, with people trying to make sense of her tragic death.
Nellie Tembe, who was rapper AKA’s fiancee jumped to her death, from the tenth floor of Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town for unknown reasons.
Her death was initially ruled as a suicide, but her father Moses Tembe, shot down claims that she was suicidal, instead, he implied she might have been under the influence of drugs at the time of her death.
The weekend was awash with new revelations after videos and pictures which suggested that Nellie and AKA’s relationship was toxic and abusive, found their way into the media.
It was clear that Nellie Tembe was a troubled girl whose issues were only amplified, after she entered into a relationship with an equally troubled AKA.
However, what took the cake is Nellie’s dad calling his daughter a dramatic actress and asking AKA to find her something to do in the entertainment industry.
The exchange does not portray Moses Tembe, who denied that his daughter had mental issues, in a positive light.
In the text, AKA and Nellie appeared to have had some problems and he reached out to her father, who proceeds to call his daughter a dramatic actress to the core.
“When Anele was younger, she passed all auditions for acting roles and refused her permission to go to jhb as she was too young. Want you to understand she’s a talented and dramatic Actress to the core she can dramatise anything When dust has settled… find something you could do with her in this business area. Take care my son!!!! ” he wrote
To which AKA replied
Thank you baba. I will ride the storm out and quietly hope she calms down and engages me properly. I hope she doesn’t do anything stupid in the interim.
This exchange sparked social media outrage, with many accusing Moses Tembe of enabling his daughter’s abuser and being out of touch with his daughter’s issues.
Many social commentators have said that Moses should have done more to protect his daughter, not only from AKA but from herself, but he chose to write off what appears to be mental issues and a cry for help as drama.
He seemed to address AKA as her handler and not as a man who she was in a tumultuous relationship with. It seemed Moses had ‘checked out’ of his daughter’s troubles and resigned her to AKA.
Here are some comments from social media
“But the father’s text… How can he talk about his daughter like that..”
“Her own father said she was a dramatic drama queen.. Imagine your father being buddies with the person who would later deliver you to him in a bodybag.”
“Her dads reply is wild…but he was replying to the abusers narrative of the story so i am not sure how he relayed the story to him..but yhoo WILD!!”
“Men are so scary. How both the father and aka speak about Nellie is shocking”
“I’m more shocked by how her own father spoke of her I don’t understand at all, I can’t process it”
Moses Tembe however, highlighted that he wasn’t aware of some of their issues and the videos were a shock to him, because Nellie protected AKA and opened up to her sisters and not to him.
In such matters, there’s are always three sides, her side, his side and the truth, seeing that one of the parties is no longer alive to give her narrative, it becomes a matter of speculation at large.
