The government has promised to increase allowances for frontline COVID-19 workers as a way of compensating them adequately for the sterling work that they do.

This was revealed by acting Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Jenfan Muswere while giving an update of the 30-day level four national lockdown in Harare on Thursday. He said:
Government through the national taskforce owes health workers a debt of gratitude.
Those who work in the red zones, which deal with the care of COVID-19 patients will have their allowances reviewed with the intention of compensating them adequately.
Muswere also revealed that the Ministry of Health and Child Care has created 500 new nursing posts to beef up the country’s fight against the novel coronavirus.
He urged members of the public to comply with COVID-19 prevention regulations noting that a total of 16 286 people was arrested last week for violating lockdown measures.
