Renowned Music Icon Mbongeni Ngema Tragically Passes Away in Eastern Cape Crash
In a somber turn of events, the Eastern Cape Transport Department has taken legal action by filing a culpable homicide case with the Bizana Police Station in response to the untimely demise of music legend Mbongeni Ngema.
The unfortunate incident occurred this Wednesday when Ngema’s sedan, carrying him and three other passengers, collided with a truck on the R61 near Bizana in the Eastern Cape.
Ngema, who was returning from a funeral, sustained fatal injuries in the crash, leading to his tragic demise at the Adelaide Tambo Memorial Hospital in Mbizana. Miraculously, the three other occupants emerged from the accident unharmed.
Unathi Bhinqose, the provincial transport spokesperson, conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the Eastern Cape Department of Transport, represented by MEC Xolile Nqatha, to the grieving Ngema family. Bhinqose also expressed sincere wishes for a swift and complete recovery to the two individuals currently hospitalized.
