Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Grade 12 certificate.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years working as a cleaner in a health facility or similar environment.
- Skills:
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal skills and productivity.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Infection Control, and Waste Management.
- Ability to read and write.
- Work Environment:
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Team player with a collaborative attitude.
Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Cleaning:
- Clean designated areas, including windows, walls, basins, sinks, lockers, kitchens, and bathrooms.
- Sweep, mop, and polish floors in all assigned areas.
- Damp and dry dust surfaces.
- Empty dustbins in all designated areas.
- Hygiene and Infection Control:
- Open windows daily to promote hygiene and infection control.
- Assess and update toilet cleaning checklists, ensuring hygienic standards.
- Request and replace toilet paper, towels, and hand soap as needed.
- Waste Management:
- Remove and store waste in designated areas.
- Safety and Reporting:
- Report safety hazards and hazardous threats in the environment.
- Maintenance:
- Provide routine general maintenance services.
- Clean and care for cleaning equipment, ensuring proper storage of materials.
- Report electrical or mechanical malfunctions of cleaning machines and equipment.
