Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies, a leading retail pharmacy chain, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cleaner to join the team at their Brooklyn Mall store in Pretoria. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, hygienic, and welcoming environment in line with Dis-Chem’s high standards. Responsibilities include ensuring the cleanliness of the store floor, stock room, dispensary, admin office, and canteen, contributing to an exceptional shopping experience for customers.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification
- At least 6 months of cleaning experience
- Strong command of the English language (written and oral)
- Basic customer service skills
- Knowledge of an additional language relevant to the local area
- Willingness and availability to work retail hours
Advantageous:
- Bilingual proficiency
- Previous experience cleaning in a retail store environment
Job Specification
As a Cleaner at Dis-Chem, you will:
- Maintain a consistently high standard of hygiene and cleanliness across the store, including the shop floor, stock room, dispensary, admin office, and communal areas, ensuring readiness before the store opens.
- Develop and follow cleaning routines to keep all areas pristine.
- Ensure the canteen and restrooms are clean, well-stocked, and presentable at all times.
- Be available during operational hours to address cleaning needs as they arise.
- Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment for specific tasks, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Display wet floor signs at both ends of areas being cleaned to ensure safety.
- Interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner, offering assistance when needed.
- Perform all duties in compliance with Health and Safety Regulations.
