Requirements
To qualify for these Driver Messenger positions, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education:
- NQF Level 1 or 2 (Grade 8 or 9) or an AET/ABET Level 2 Certificate from a recognized institution.
- Driver’s License:
- A valid Code 8 driver’s license (Code 10 is advantageous).
- Skills and Abilities:
- Good communication skills for interacting with colleagues and supervisors.
- Physically fit to handle delivery tasks and minor manual labor.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
- Experience:
- Basic knowledge of messenger duties, such as mail delivery and document transport, is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Other:
- Must be a South African citizen with a clean criminal record (background checks will be conducted).
Duties
As a Driver Messenger, your responsibilities will include:
- Collecting, delivering, and distributing mail, documents, and packages between offices and sites in KZN, Western Cape, or Eastern Cape.
- Operating and maintaining the assigned vehicle, ensuring it is clean and in good working condition.
- Assisting with basic administrative tasks, such as logging deliveries and reporting issues.
- Performing minor manual tasks as needed, such as loading and unloading items.
- Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of items while adhering to road safety regulations.
