Chinhoyi based socialite-cum-businessman Mike Chimombe, an associate of Genius Kadungure aka Ginimbi, has tested positive for Covid-19 forcing him into isolation, iAfrica24 reports.
This dark moment, Chimombe is recorded saying by Daily News, will pass as he remains hopeful he will beat the coronavirus.
“After testing positive this past week, I immediately went into self-isolation to safe guard myself and those around me. I was stunned when my results returned negative because I had not been showing any signs or symptoms of the virus,” said the Zanu PF national youth league indigenisation and empowerment secretary and music promoter.
“But I just told myself that it’s now a part of us and like any other disease it can be beaten.”
Chimombe, who is a lawyer and president of Affirmative Action Group is linked to ZANU PF and his inner circle includes the likes of the late Genius Kadungure (also known as Ginimbi), Albert Ndabambi, Tazvi “Chief J” Mhaka and the Power Circle who are all among some of the biggest spenders in Harare.
He once hosted an all-black-birthday party at Ginimbi’s place where he washed his hands with expensive US$300 champagne. Minister Kazembe Kazembe was also in attendance.
He is also nephew to businessman and current CAF president Phillip Chiyangwa.
