**Durban, August 12, 2024** – Close friends of actress Yolanda Myeza have privately revealed to *iAfrica24.com* that they are deeply concerned about her well-being following the devastating loss of her mother, Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule.

According to these sources, Yolanda was exceptionally close to her late mother and is struggling to envision life without her. Worryingly, friends have confided that she may even be considering taking her own life, leading family members to monitor her closely during this difficult time.

Yolanda, who is best known for her role in the popular series *Sibongile and The Dlamini*, has been profoundly affected by the death of her mother, Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule. Zanele, a beloved Ukhozi FM presenter and founder of the Crown Gospel Awards, passed away in the early hours of Monday, August 12, 2024, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was 52.

Zanele’s passing has not only sent shockwaves through the South African media landscape but also left Yolanda utterly heartbroken. Having been a pillar of strength for her mother throughout her illness, Yolanda’s grief is profound, and the deep bond she shared with her mother has made this loss particularly devastating.

In a statement, the family confirmed Zanele’s passing and expressed their sorrow, acknowledging the significant impact she had on those around her. Zanele’s husband, Bishop Mpendulo Nkambule, expressed his gratitude for the support they received during her illness. “This is sad news; she is resting now, and I thank all congregants and listeners for their prayers and support.

As a family, we are hurt, and we know that listeners and the Ukhozi FM family are also hurt. We are praying to God to comfort us,” he said, adding that funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.

Zanele’s passing is not only a loss to her family but also to her colleagues and listeners at Ukhozi FM. Sbongi Ngcobo, the station’s boss, extended condolences to Zanele’s family and urged the public to be respectful and sensitive in their online tributes. “I would like to thank Ukhozi FM listeners; they were with us on this journey, and she was in their prayers. I ask people to give the family space and be responsible on social media about what they write regarding Zanele’s death,” she stated.

Yolanda, a native of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, has been deeply committed to the arts from a young age. Having begun acting at just seven years old, she recently completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Live Performance at AFDA Durban, with a focus on both film and stage acting. Currently pursuing an Honours degree in Film Producing, Yolanda’s promising career is now overshadowed by this personal tragedy, making this period especially challenging for her.

As the community rallies around Yolanda and her family, friends and family are doing everything they can to ensure she receives the support she needs during this dark time. The legacy of Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule will undoubtedly live on through the countless lives she touched during her career. Her contributions to South African media and her unwavering spirit in the face of adversity will be remembered by many. In this difficult time, thoughts and prayers are with Yolanda and the Nkambule family as they navigate their grief and honor the memory of a remarkable woman.
