Veteran actress Mme Florence Masebe has stepped into the shoes of the beloved character Meikie in the popular SABC 1 soap opera Skeem Saam.

Temporarily taking over the role from Harriet Manamela until the end of season 12, Masebe’s addition to the cast comes after unforeseen circumstances required Manamela to take an extended sick leave.

The decision to replace the character of Meikie was made to ensure continuity in the storyline, with Manamela’s last scene set to air on April 5, 2024. From May 15th of the same year, viewers will see Florence Masebe portraying Meikie Maputla on screen.

Masebe, a seasoned South African actress renowned for her roles in Muvhango, Generations, and Rhythm City, brings a wealth of experience to the role. Beyond her acting career, she is known for her advocacy efforts in the entertainment industry, championing justice and equity for South African artists.
