A post in PaHushamwari Hwedu Facebook Group posted by Yvone Chipuriro has suggested that Lancet Clinical Laboratory in Harare is issuing fake positive coronavirus certificates as a way of extorting money from clients.
iAfrica24 News got in touch with Yvone who confirmed the report adding that she had reported the matter to both Lancet and the Ministry of Health and Child Care. She also said investigations were already underway.
The post claims that Yvone departed Zambia for Zimbabwe on the 21st of January. She took a coronavirus test and results were negative. She decided to have another test at Lancet laboratory upon arrival and results were positive. As she was departing the complex, an official at Lancet approached her and told her that the result can be turned to negative only if she pays another US$30 on top of the initial US$60.
She walked away and had another test at Genau laboratory and the results came negative. She left for Ghana and upon arrival, she had a mandatory test and the results were negative.
She says she was hurt and believes what Lancet is doing is wrong as they are inflicting fear in the public by creating fake positive results. Below is her post:

This happens days after the government had announced the closure of Klosad for alleged issuing of unregistered COVID-19 medicines.
