Due to pressure being mounted by the United MDC T followers who are not yet seeing the party that resembles one that their much revered late leader Dr M R Tsvangirai led, the party Secretary General Douglas Mwonzora has contemplated exclusion from writing letters to Parliament for the recalls.
This comes as sweet music in the ears of many as it was being used as a tool for professional rigging ahead of the Extra Ordinary Congress. It also comes as a relief to the other Presidential aspirants who could only watch as the SG steered the ship into the bush in his favour. He had to assign his publicity handers like Saungweme to do the damage control and justfify why he withdrew Phyllis Ndlovu from the list of recalls, thus vindicating those saying indeed the SG is running his own race. See the insert below. Clarifying Sen. Phillis Ndlovu Recall and Reversal of Recall:
My understanding is that their is an electoral dispute involving ZEC, MDCT and MDCA over the appointment of Phillis Ndlovu as senator for Matebeleland North. According to legal sources the supreme court has reserved Judgement. Once the SG realised this he quickly alerted the President of Senate to avoid contempt of court.
Sources say he has since advised the Acting President and National Chair on 2 possibilities 1. The party can write a letter to court withdrawing the Supreme court challenge, thereafter a recall can be done. 2 The second option is for a leader who is not an officer of the court to write a letter to the President of Senate effecting the withdrawal of Phillis Ndlovu. At no point did the SG defied the decisions of the Standinding Committie. Together we shall win. United we stand. The SG is only record calling for peace, justice and harmony in the movement
Victory is Certain!!
