Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric) certificate at NQF Level 4.
• Experience: Previous work in a warehouse environment is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Background: Applicants will be subject to risk assessment checks, and a clear criminal record is required.

Essential Criteria/Person Profile

• Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Physically fit with the ability to count and collate accurately.
• Good listening skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• Able to resolve problems, work under pressure, and meet production deadlines.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) rules and quality standards.

• Flexible and willing to work overtime when required.
• Physically capable of meeting the job’s demands, including picking, moving, and carrying boxes, reading batch numbers, and packing goods for long periods.
• Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
• Must have a clean criminal record and be trustworthy and conscientious.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure facilities are supplied with correct stock as requested, maintaining the cold chain during the distribution process.
• Pick surgical and pharmaceutical stock according to pick lists, ensuring accuracy by product code, strength, batch number, generic name, pack size, and expiry date.
• Adhere to FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) and FIFO (First In, First Out) principles for stock management.

• Verify that quantities match the picking list.
• Ensure hospitals and clinics receive separated pallets and that no stock is left behind between aisles.
• Keep the warehouse clean and free of hazards, reporting any issues to the supervisor immediately.
• Report damages or equipment issues to the supervisor promptly.
• Comply with Good Warehouse Practices (GWP) and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
• Participate in bi-annual stock takes to maintain inventory accuracy.
