Former MDC T interim leader Thokozani Khupe has said she will fight the disputed victory of her rival Douglas Mwonzora. This was revealed by the NewsHawks that stated that Khupe said VP posts are elected and not appointed and she will go ahead and challenge the election results.
According to the NewsHawks Khupe said:
The VP position is elected; no one appoints or recommends anybody. What is in contest is the post of president. My position still stands: I’m challenging that election.
Khupe yesterday said she tested positive for COVID-19 and she will be self-isolating till she recovers. She did not specify when she will challenge the elections but her lawyer Lovemore Madhukeu yesterday said only a competent court can set aside Mwonzora’s victory.
