Villagers in the Dande area in Mt Darwin are reportedly living in fear after stray lions devoured their livestock. This was revealed by Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Permanent Secretary Nick Mangwana who posted the update on Twitter and said:
Mt Darwin Villagers in Dande Communal Lands are living in fear of stray lions which are roaming around devouring goats and other livestock. @Zimparks‘s Problem Animal Control Unit has been alerted is now busy trekking the animals.
No injuries and or fatalities have been recorded or communicated so far. ZimParks is yet to update the nation about the developments taking place in the area.
Meanwhile, a Crocodile made its way into a male ward at Chiredzi District Hospital yesterday and according to TellZim, it might have been able to get into the ward after it crawled out of a nearby storm drain. The crocodile might have been in the storm drain because of the town’s poor drainage and the heavy rains that are being experienced in many parts of the country.
