Tragic Loss: Comrades Runner Ogopoleng Modise Fatally St.àbbed During Saturday Run

The running community is mourning the devastating loss of Ogopoleng Modise, a 37-year-old Comrades runner, who was tragically st.àbbed to d.èath during his Saturday run on July 6. Modise’s lifeless body was discovered the following day, July 7, along a pathway leading from La Verna to town.

Modise, an accomplished runner who had completed his eighth Comrades marathon this year, went for a jog on Saturday morning but never returned home. Concerned friends and family initiated an extensive search throughout the day, only to find him fatally attacked by unknown assailants along the pathway from La Verna hospital.

The police have since launched a m.ùrder investigation into this senseless act of violence.
