Chin’ono posted on social media claiming Zimbabwean institutions are weak and or captured hence the need for reforms. Chin’ono said:
This guy (Donald Trump) and his supporters tried to do what Robert Mugabe and ZANUPF did to us in 2008!
His failure to do so is a lesson in why Zimbabwe needs reforms that will create STRONG and independent institutions!
Had he been Zimbabwe’s president, Donald Trump would have rigged the election and used the army to beat up citizens into submission.
His failure to do so is testament of America’s strong and independent institutions!!
He is a sore loser and history will remember him and his supporters as political anarchists!
Chin’ono speaks when Trump is refusing to accept the outcome of the election claiming that the results were manipulated in favour of president elect Joe Biden.
He, at some point, called for the counting of votes to “Stop” and has since approached the courts over the elections which he said were fraudulent.
Meanwhile, the Zimbabwean government says it is implementing electoral and other reforms.
Opposition MDC has since its formation in 1999 claimed that elections in the country were being stolen by the ruling ZANU PF.
MDC Alliance leader, Nelson Chamisa, at year vowed not to contest in the harmonised elections slated for 2023 if electoral and media reforms have not been implemented.
The party claims its candidate, Chamisa, won the 2018 presidential election adding that the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) in connivance with ZANU PF, manipulated the results in favour of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
