A police officers wife dies after testifying in Meyiwa’s case

In a heart-wrenching twist of fate, Mrs. Nonhlanhla Ndlovu, widow of the late General Philani Ndlovu, the first officer on the scene of Senzo Meyiwa’s tragic demise, met her untimely end at the hands of stray bullets in a Vosloorus shopping mall.

The tale takes a somber note as General Philani Ndlovu, who passed away under suspicious circumstances just before Meyiwa’s trial commenced, had stirred speculations of foul play, with suspicions of poisoning lingering.

Now, the Ndlovu family grapples with grief once again, bewildered by the shocking murder of Mrs. Ndlovu.

Njabulo Ndlovu, General Philani Ndlovu’s brother, expressed perplexity, revealing that Mrs. Ndlovu had recently relocated to Showe, KwaZulu Natal, seeking a reprieve from Johannesburg.

However, fate had other plans, as she found herself in the city for a mere three weeks before the tragic incident unfolded, leaving the family in a quest for answers regarding the motive behind her demise.

Confirming the grim episode, Johannesburg police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo informed the public that the police are treating the case as murder.

The assailants, steering a vehicle, targeted Mrs. Ndlovu while she navigated her car in Vosloorus. The perplexing question of why she became a target remains shrouded in mystery.

Compounding the complexity is the connection to the Senzo Meyiwa case. General Philani Ndlovu, slated to testify in court, had played a pivotal role. Sinqobile Maphisa, spokesperson for the families of the Meyiwa case defendants, expressed shock at Mrs.

Ndlovu’s demise. Maphisa postulated that she might have stumbled upon crucial details about her husband’s demise, sparking concerns of potential efforts to suppress evidence in the ongoing Meyiwa case.

Painting General Ndlovu as a determined and forthright officer willing to divulge all he witnessed at the crime scene, Maphisa hinted that Mrs. Ndlovu might have possessed vital information, prompting her to reach out to her husband. Anxiety heightens as reports surface of witnesses in Meyiwa’s trial facing harm, with one shot and another missing.

In the midst of this uncertainty, the police make an earnest plea for anyone possessing information about Mrs. Ndlovu’s murder to step forward, underscoring the pivotal role community cooperation plays in unravelling this tragic puzzle. The saga unfolds, leaving a community in shock and a family grappling with the inexplicable loss of their loved one.
