Reasons Why Scandal replaced Romeo with Nhlamulo revealed

Etv’s top soapie Scandal hasn’t been the same since actor Hungani Ndlovu , who plays the popular character of Romeo left the show in 2020.

The show finally confirmed his resignation in November that year after speculations but said there was a possibility that he could come back someday. “Yes, he has resigned, but he won’t be replaced by anyone.”

They then broke the fans’ hearts by killing his character in 2021 which was followed by the exits of his mother Grace Medupe and his wife Xolile Langa.

Sources from the show told a local publication that Hungani was unhappy with the way he was treated by the show and he felt that he deserved more.

“Of course, one might say he is a diva, but he knows his worth, and he realised that they were not appreciating him for that,” a source said.

Another source said Ndlovu also felt that he was being targeted by some people in the production, and he just wanted to make things easy for them by resigning from the soapie.

His character was a fan favourite and fans took to social media to ask producers to bring him back.
Producers knew that Romeo brought in viewers who were glued to the show because of him.

The show seems to have now replaced him with Mathews Rantsoma, who plays the character of Nhlamulo.

Both these actors strike a resemblance, their characters and storylines are also similar.
They look so alike that they could pass even pass off as brothers in real life and on the show.

Nhamulo started off as an intelligent forex trader but is now working as a computer specialist, has his own workshop and is married to Lindiwe.
Romeo started off as a hacker and an IT genius and eventually became CEO at Thebe Langa Towers and married Xolile Langa.
