Open Letter to President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga and Parliament of Zimbabwe by United Democratic Alliance (UDA) President Daniel Shumba.
Zimbabwe is in national crisis as a direct consequence of your decisions. It’s incidental that some of your own are inevitably caught up in what continues to ravage the broader society. You must now relent and focus.
Doesn’t matter about your egos, here are some naked truths:- You have No Good Will among citizens. It’s clear to all that yours is a clueless adventure driven by a serious entitlement. You’re so brazen and hurt the nation at will. You and cronies are victimizing the nation.

I know you and have been your subordinate in Military and Zanu PF structures. So I have first-hand knowledge of your obsessions, abilities, limitations and about your perspectives (most of them misplaced). I know too that you’re impervious to reason and too quick to accuse.
I was privileged to have been involved and participated as a consequence of being a child of a founding member of Zanu, and as Military officer in the Special forces. It’s a pity that you have collectively brought all this into disrepute and decimated the pride and ethos.
Liberating a country is indeed a supreme sacrifice paid and many participated. It doesn’t entitle any liberator to a bounty or promise of power. We’re not captives nor slaves to those of your kind, especially the ones with guns. The nation doesn’t understand why you’re angry.
It is the entitlement, greed and obsession for power that is at the centre of our national crisis. State institutions have been and continue to be captured in furtherance of this agenda. Corruption and the endless craving for opulence as turned you into shameless thugs.
You perpetuated a Coup under the guise of getting rid of criminals. Sorry to put it you that you’re far worse criminals. You’ve taken brutality to another level indeed. You’re heartless and evil (believe me I’m being polite). You negate constitutionalism and the rule of law.
You’ve captured the judiciary and weaponized it to punish and kill your opponents. Prisons are death traps, added to the many human rights violations under your watch. You and yo cronies/families expropriate citizens’ assets, businesses and undertake a litany of illegalities.
While you’re undertaking the race for self-enrichment, abducting people, demolishing houses, watching the collapse of the health and education sectors, destroying the economy, stealing gold and diamonds, alas we’re faced by the Covid19 virus to which you’ve no plan.
Your MCAZ is being too prescriptive and slow at registering products already in use in countries with zero Covid19 viruses. People are dying and yet you remain clueless and clumsy about how to intervene. You would rather die than return the stolen loot to save lives.
Step up and resolve the health crisis and the economy at large. You’re going to need political capital with your egos accounting for nothing. I don’t advocate for retribution but call on you to be selfless. Zimbabwe is in a mess and a renewal that can bring redemption.
