Chinese consumers have rushed to get their hands on the latest iteration of Apple&#8217;s iconic handset through various sales channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within just 10 minutes of Apple opening pre-orders for the iPhone 15, the company&#8217;s official website in mainland China experienced a crash due to overwhelming demand. Pre-orders on popular e-commerce platforms like Alibaba&#8217;s Tmall and JD.com have also witnessed high traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-humix-humix-block\" style=\"justify-content:center\"><div id=\"humix-vid-d4f3ZW6adHu\" props=\"autoplay=1\" style=\"width:640px;height:480px\" float><script async src=\"https:\/\/www.humix.com\/video.js\"><\/script><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The initial batch of iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max units available for pre-order on Apple&#8217;s official Tmall store sold out in less than a minute after the pre-orders began at 8 pm last Friday. The premium Pro Max model proved to be the quickest seller, with stock replenished nine times in under 30 minutes, according to reports by local media outlet Jiemian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notably, JD.com customers placed more than 3 million pre-orders for all four iPhone 15 models by Monday, underscoring the strong demand for Apple&#8217;s latest offering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among handsets priced between 4,000 and 6,000 yuan (US$823), the iPhone 15 emerged as the most popular premium model on JD.com, followed by the iPhone 14 and iPhone 13, with one Huawei Mate 40 model coming in fourth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond traditional e-commerce platforms, a range of on-demand service providers and online service platforms like Meituan and Ele.me have also witnessed a frenzy of iPhone 15 purchases. Food delivery giant Meituan partnered with over 5,000 authorized Apple product retailers across China, selling 200 million yuan worth of iPhone 15 units in the first 30 minutes of its pre-sales session. Alibaba-owned Ele.me collaborated with over 3,000 Apple retailers, promising to deliver new iPhones to customers within 30 minutes once they become officially available on September 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The strong sales come on the heels of the official iPhone 15 series launch in China last Wednesday. The lineup includes four models starting at 5,999 yuan, featuring design and function upgrades such as improved cameras and new colors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The premium Pro and Pro Max models, priced between 7,999 and 13,999 yuan, feature Apple&#8217;s &#8220;industry-first 3-nanometer chip&#8221; \u2013 the A17 Pro \u2013 and a titanium case for weight reduction, along with a shift to more universal type-C charging cords. In comparison, Huawei&#8217;s Mate 60 Pro, powered by a domestically produced chip using 7-nm technology, is priced at 6,999 yuan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite its strong reception, Apple is also contending with a partial government ban on its usage in government facilities.
