In a tragic turn of events that has sent shockwaves through the Tshwane community, another prominent DJ, DJ Skinny Deep, whose real name was Duduetsang Gift Maluleka (32), was shot and killed next to Giant Stadium in Soshanguve on Monday, January 29, at approximately 7 pm.

The family of DJ Skinny Deep expressed profound shock and disbelief at the incident. His uncle, Michael Maluleka (53), conveyed the family’s pain, stating, “We are still in pain.
We want justice for my nephew, and those who killed him to be found and to rot in jail.”
DJ Skinny Deep, hailing from Block U in Mabopane, was reportedly picked up by someone from his home around 11 am.
The family received the devastating news that he had been shot dead by unknown assailants, leaving them in a state of disbelief.
His grandmother, Dorothy Maluleka (74), recounted that DJ Skinny Deep had informed her he was heading to Ga-Rankuwa with a friend and would return. She expressed the heart-wrenching sentiment that she never anticipated he would not come back home alive. The shocking news was delivered to the family by his friend later that night.
Gogo Dorothy shared her profound grief, revealing that she didn’t sleep the entire night and remains deeply affected. She emphasized the closeness she shared with her grandson.
The grieving mother, Kedibone Maluleka (50), was too distraught to speak at the time, still grappling with the weight of the tragedy.
A close friend, Diokeng Seshweni (27), recalled DJ Skinny Deep’s passion for barcadi and amapiano music.
On the fateful Monday, DJ Skinny Deep had called Diokeng around 6 pm, expressing his intention to visit.
The evening took a horrific turn as Diokeng witnessed the lifeless body of his friend on the ground after the shooting. He noted that DJ Skinny Deep was not just a DJ but also a motivational speaker.
The incident involved another individual who sustained injuries and is currently hospitalized.
The Gauteng police spokeswoman, Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, confirmed an ongoing investigation into the murder and attempted murder case.
The victims were attacked at a filling station in Soshanguve Block K. One victim succumbed to the injuries on the scene, while the other remains hospitalized.
The motive behind the shooting remains unknown, and as of now, no suspects have been apprehended.
