In a somber gathering at Rhema Bible Church, fans, friends, industry colleagues, and grieving family members came together to bid farewell to the late award-winning singer and reality TV star, Zahara, on Thursday.
Taking the podium, Zahara’s husband, Mpho Xaba, shared poignant memories of their love story. He fondly recalled the initial meeting that pulled him out of a dark period, lightened by Zahara’s comforting presence.
Despite lighthearted jokes about their journey of love, Mpho’s speech took a heart-wrenching turn as he delved into the letters and videos expressing his love for Zahara.
In his last love letter, Mpho poured his heart out: “To my dearly departed love. Words fail me. The void you have imposed on me has immeasurable depth.
What brewed scepticism and questions, as well as an iniquity to those who felt like they held a high moral ground to the institution of love, inadvertently led to the inception of a love so strong.
Of adoration, affection, fondness, attachment, passion, infatuation, care, devotion, and all things warm and fuzzy.”
Expressing eternal gratitude, Mpho reminisced about the moments they shared, acknowledging how Zahara had rescued him from a profound darkness and reignited his faith in love.
He emphasized Zahara’s non-judgmental nature, her role as a guide and counselor, and the decision to choose him as her own.
Reflecting on their dreams and shared memories, Mpho expressed the bitter twist of fate that disrupted their plans. He spoke on behalf of their children, Keamogetwe and Kamogelo, promising everlasting love.
Mpho concluded his letter with a profound vow: “As for me, I will search for you through one thousand worlds and ten thousand lifetimes until I find you.”
