Nine years have passed since the burial of Senzo Meyiwa, the former goalkeeper for the Orlando Pirates and the captain of Bafana Bafana.

His daughter, the child of his marriage to Mandisa Mkhize, bears a striking resemblance to her father and is an adorable young girl.

Mandisa and their daughter appeared inseparable, with Mandisa’s Instagram filled with pictures of the two spending quality time together.

On the third anniversary of the soccer legend’s passing, Mandisa turned to social media and shared touching photographs of their daughter giving her father a card and sending him kisses.

During the tragic incident in October 2014, when the goalkeeper was killed in what was described as a botched robbery in Vosloorus, east of Johannesburg, Kelly Khumalo, her mother Ntombi, her sister Zandi, Meyiwa’s friends Mthokozisi Twala and Tumelo Madlala, and Zandi’s boyfriend Longwe Twala were all present. The incident occurred in the presence of Kelly Khumalo.

Meyiwa’s sister, Nomalanga, stated the following with TimesLIVE: “At this point, the only thing we want is to get closure as a family and put an end to this chapter for Senzo.” Our sole desire now is to live our lives without hindrance.

In the Netflix documentary about the murder, Meyiwa’s sister is quoted as saying, “There is a lot of material that was exposed in the documentary that we also didn’t know about. We hope that as the trial progresses, we will find out exactly what happened because the documentary has given us a lot to ponder.” The documentary has drawn increased attention from South Africans to the trial.
