In a shocking revelation, South African Afro-pop sensation Kelly Khumalo has bravely recounted to the police disturbing incidents of domestic violence and alleged rape involving her ex-boyfriend and the father of her child, Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye. These harrowing events date back over a decade.
Khumalo, who became pregnant with Maarohanye’s child in 2009 and moved in with the popular TV presenter in 2010, shared a chilling account of these incidents. The first incident reportedly occurred when Maarohanye was out on bail after a tragic accident in Soweto that took the lives of several schoolchildren.
During a visit to friends in Rivonia, a heated argument between the couple escalated. Khumalo claims that the rapper pushed her against a wall and strangled her, all while she was eight months pregnant. This resulted in severe abdominal pains, leading to her seeking treatment at the Sandton Clinic.
Another incident allegedly unfolded when Maarohanye came to pick up Khumalo after she had finished filming for Rhythm City in June 2010. According to Khumalo’s account, the rapper accused her of having an affair with one of her co-actors and subsequently slapped her upon their return home, as confirmed by a police official.
Despite these traumatic experiences, the rapper later apologized, and Khumalo forgave him, primarily for the sake of their newborn child.
