DJ Tira Addresses Infidelity Claims in His Marriage

DJ Tira has firmly refuted allegations of infidelity in his marriage following recent claims by a blogger that his wife, Gugu Khathi, was involved in an affair with former Kwela Tebza member Tebogo Lerole while they were both in the Eastern Cape for work.

The claims emerged after GBV activist Slindile Khumalo, who was present at an SUV Challenge event, alleged that she had witnessed Gugu visiting Tebogo. In response, Slindile mentioned having evidence and conversations that she might use in court. She stated, “I don’t have to justify myself.”

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, DJ Tira remained unfazed by the allegations, expressing his trust in his wife and dismissing the claims as nonsense. He said, “I trust my woman, I don’t pay attention to nonsense.”

Tebogo Lerole also categorically denied the allegations, asserting that they were baseless and false. He explained that Slindile had been dismissed due to her behavior and confirmed that she had written messages threatening to get back at him by spreading false rumors of an affair with Gugu.

He stated, “I’m not bothered with that. I think Gugu knows the truth, her team knows the truth, and I think even the husband knows the truth. I have known Gugu since I was 15-years-old.” He saw the allegations as an attempt to tarnish his name and the foundation’s reputation.

Slindile disputed Tebogo’s claims, emphasizing that she was not employed by him and had not received any message indicating her dismissal from any position.

At the time of this article’s publication, efforts to obtain a comment from Gugu were unsuccessful.

Last August, Gugu dismissed rumors of divorce between her and DJ Tira, laughing off the speculation that emerged amid cheating rumors. The couple, together for 18 years and married for nearly a decade, clarified that they were still happily together. Gugu attributed the rumors to her being late at the South African Music Awards (Samas) and emphasized that they did not have any significant issues warranting divorce.
