Many of these family ties prove that some of the talent that we have witnessed within the entertainment industry may indeed be something that runs in the veins of some family names. Here is a list of some of the related public figures within the entertainment industry.

  • Primo Baloyi and Lucas Radebe.

One of South Africa’s legendary former footballers, Lucas Radebe is the father to TikTok sensation, actor and model Primo Baloyi who is popularly known as Primo 9teen.

This father and son duo do definitely have a few similarities with the main commonalities being their looks and striving in their respective careers. Lucas is someone who surprises Primo’s large following and features on his TikTok every now and again, with social media going crazy when the two collaborate.

  • Zenande and Akhenime  Mfenyana.

This sister duo is definitely one that is hard to miss. The contribution of their craft to the South African film industry has been quite large with Zenande paving the way.

Zenande now appears on the enchanting love story series 1802: Love Defies Time on 1 Magic. Akhenime is one of the lead characters in the local telenovela  Gqeberha: The Empire that airs on Mzansi Magic.

  • Beáta Bena Green and Tamaryn Green.

The Greens lineage clearly has some form of pageantry and modeling DNA within their bloodline. South African actress Beáta Bena is an actress, model and entrepreneur.

According to Media 24 – South Africa’s largest media company – she participated in the Miss South Africa pageant in 2020 with her cousin, Tamaryn being the titleholder of Miss South Africa and Miss Universe runner up in 2018.

  • Wayde van Niekerk and Cheslin Kolbe.

Not only are these cousins a product of the Kraaifontein community but they are also sports heroes for many of our South African youth. With both being symbols of success in their respective sporting industries, it is clear that the factor of speed and sports is something that may be in their blood as they were raised by their individual parents who were also sports champions. Both these cousins are champions who represent our country nationally on international grounds.

  • Thapelo and Seputla Sebogodi.

When they say an apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree then they are definitely referring to these two. For the longest time many people were unaware that these two are related. It was until they were both cast members of the award winning South African local series and telenovela The River acting alongside one another that people noticed.

Thapelo is the first son of the legendary thespian Seputla, who has featured on multiple South African award-winning shows. The two have also featured in theatre works together.

  •  Khosi and Mangaliso Ngema

Khosi is someone viewers got introduced to on The Blood and Water cast. She portrayed the role of Fikile, who was the long-lost daughter that had been kidnapped from the Khumalo family. Khosi is the daughter of veteran actor and entrepreneur, Mangaliso who has appeared on Generations, Lithapo, Vehicle 19 and others. • ProVerb and Lerato Mvelase.
