In a shocking development, one of the three suspects charged with the murder of Skeem Saam actress Amanda Manku’s mother and grandmother is reportedly her own father. The actress, known for portraying the character of Lizzy on the popular TV show, confirmed the arrests in a statement.

William Manku, a police captain and the father of Amanda Manku, appeared before the Lebowakgomo Magistrates’ Court on January 10, according to reports from ZiMoja. The tragic incident occurred in May 2021, and three suspects have been taken into custody.

David Khoza, a 40-year-old Mozambican national, was apprehended on January 8 at Lebombo Port of Entry in Mpumalanga as he attempted to cross over to Mozambique. William Manku, aged 53, was arrested at his workplace at Sandringham police station in Gauteng.

Additionally, his 42-year-old girlfriend, Nonhlanhla Ngubo, a police sergeant at Linden Police Station, was arrested in Lenasia South on Tuesday.

Limpopo police spokesperson Hlulani Mashaba mentioned that the motive behind the incident is currently unknown, and police investigations are ongoing. The suspects have been remanded in police custody, with a court appearance scheduled for Thursday, January 18, 2024, for bail applications and further investigations.

In a statement released on behalf of her family, Amanda Manku expressed the family’s gratitude for the support received during this difficult time. The family acknowledged the ongoing investigations by the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the judicial system, trusting that the matter will be brought to a close.

The tragic turn of events has left fans and the public shocked, as the Manku family navigates the challenging circumstances surrounding the murder of two women, aged 70 and 45, in May 2021. The family has indicated that they will address media requests at an appropriate time.
