Overall Purpose of the Job
The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) is seeking applications for the position of Aircraft Registration Officer. The primary responsibilities of this role include reviewing, processing, and documenting applications for aircraft registration, as well as registering and de-registering aircraft when necessary.

The officer will also be responsible for issuing certificates of registration and managing documentation related to the South African Aircraft Mortgage Register, in accordance with relevant legislation and company policy.

South African Civil Aircraft Register (SACAR):

- Verify and review application details, including aircraft make, model, and serial number, aircraft type certificate, operational and equipment data, aircraft owner’s information, documentary evidence of ownership, aircraft manufacturer’s data, and any other required information.
- Make recommendations based on the information provided and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Maintain an up-to-date register of all aircraft registered by the SACAA, recording the information from the Certificate of Registration.
South African Aircraft Mortgage Register (SAAMR):
- Maintain the SAAMR in accordance with the Rights in Aircraft Act and Mortgaging of Aircraft Regulations 2011.
- Ensure proper filing and retention of all mortgage documents as prescribed.
- Ensure compliance with applications for SACAR and SAAMR.
- Perform administrative duties to manage all procedures and systems in the Aircraft Registry, ensuring compliance with job objectives.
- Represent the SACAA in a professional manner when interacting with customers, promptly addressing their inquiries and efficiently handling mail.
- Grade 12 education with computer literacy.
- Diploma in Business Administration or Public Office Diploma, along with Introduction to Aviation Regulations for Administrative Personnel.
- 3 years of administrative experience.

Please note that all SACAA appointments are subject to S98 of the Civil Aviation Act, 13 of 2009, and all successful candidates will undergo security vetting.
